Car Rental Tasmania
You don't need a rental car to see Tasmania, as the public transport services are adequate and reliable. However, a hire car will allow you to get to those more 'out-of-the-way' places, or to take a detour down that enticing dusty track.
Places to See
All rental cars come with comprehensive street directories, but these will not help you once you leave town - then, you'll need to pull out a road map or, better still, pull over and ask a local.
There is so much to see and do in Tasmania that it is a wonder Tasmanians ever actually do any work! Start with the Cadbury chocolate factory near Hobart, drive via the Ashgrove cheese factory west of Launceston, stop at the D'Anvers Belgian chocolate house near Devonport before sampling the wares at the Hellyers Road Whiskey Distillery in Burnie. With these and many other tempting delights, your senses will be well and truly satisfied by the time you leave Tasmania.
